Rooted in Our Past.
Invested in Our Future.
Becky Hoch is a product of Papillion through and through. From her early days at Carriage Hill Elementary and Papillion Junior High to her graduation from Papillion La Vista High School, Becky is a lifelong resident who has dedicated her career to the community that raised her. For Becky, staying in Papillion as an adult was a conscious choice—a commitment to give back to the city that made her who she is today.
A Visionary Educator & Builder: PLV Media
Since 2003, Becky has been a cornerstone of the faculty at Papillion La Vista High School. For many years, she served as a dedicated history teacher, educating thousands of Papillion’s students on the lessons of the past.
Nearly 15 years ago, when given the opportunity to lead a tiny student club, Becky recognized a future-focused need for our students. Demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning, she went back to school to earn a whole new certification in Media, pivoting her career to transform that club into PLV Media, the Papillion La Vista Community Schools Media Academy. Today, PLV Media is a district-wide Academy serving students throughout the entire school system—a testament to Becky’s ability to manage growth and build modern, sustainable programs.
Proven Leadership and Institutional Knowledge
Becky brings an unmatched professional understanding of how our city functions:
24 Years on the Papillion Planning Commission: Nearly a quarter-century of guiding the smart growth and development of our neighborhoods.
City Council Member: Appointed in May 2025, bringing her lifelong perspective and deep local roots to the council chambers.
Educational Background: Holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Secondary Education and History (UNO) and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration (UNL).
Deep Roots, Lifelong Commitment
Becky’s life is woven into the fabric of Papillion. In 2000, she and her husband, Terry, were married at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. They have lived in their Papillion home for 27 years with their two dogs, Nutmeg and Pepper.
Becky’s commitment to Papillion is permanent: she intends to live the rest of her life here, retire here, and continue finding new ways to volunteer and invest in the people and opportunities that keep our community strong.
“I chose to build my life in Papillion because I believe in the people here. Whether I was teaching history to thousands of our kids or going back to school myself to build the PLV Media Academy, my goal has always been the same: to adapt, to grow, and to leave this city even better than I found it. I am ready to lead Papillion into its next great chapter as your Mayor.”
